As part of the launch of our new fall-winter collection, called "Color Therapy" , we are highlighting the subtle art of colorimetry and the power of colors. More than just an aesthetic choice, colorimetry allows you to harmonize shades with your skin tone, eyes and hair. It is with this in mind that we recently organized an event for our employees, offering them personalized advice with Gaëlle Gomez, image consultant and colorimetry expert.
Discover in this article how the power of colors can transform your look and reveal your natural beauty!
What is colorimetry?

Colorimetry is one of the essential foundations of image consulting. This personalized diagnosis makes it possible to identify the shades to favor around the face, whether it is clothing, makeup, hairstyle, or jewelry and accessories. The objective is to determine the color palette that will highlight the natural tones and unique contrasts of the face, including skin tone, eye color and hair.
The Power of Color: The Principles of Temperature and Value
Colors have a dual impact, both aesthetic and communicative. But they are not limited to their visual effect: they also convey a message and are a reflection of our personality while constituting a central element of our non-verbal communication.
There are two main types of color temperatures: cool colors and warm colors. The former contain a blue cast, while the latter include shades of yellow. There are also intermediate colors, called "neither-nor," which are neither warm nor cool.
The value of a color, on the other hand, refers to its degree of lightness, midtone, or depth, as if adding white or black to it would change its intensity.

Today there are several methods to perform colorimetric analysis, in this article we will focus on the 4 seasons method initiated by Suzanne Caygill. This method consists of associating the four seasons with a typology of people, whose natural characteristics are highlighted by a range of colors.
The image consultant will come to define the temperature of the eyes, hair and complexion as well as the general contrast of the person. That is to say the difference in contrast between the hair and the complexion, the eyebrows, the eyes and the mouth. Then, he comes to compare different fabrics of warm and cold colors, and fabrics with different saturations to define the "season" of his client.
The analysis by the 4 seasons is based on the temperature of a color: Warm (yellow-based) and cold (blue-based).
It then offers the following 4 categories: Spring, which brings together warm, light and bright colors, for women with a warm complexion, warm or cold eyes and medium contrast. Summer, which brings together cold, light and softened colors, for women with a cold complexion and eyes with a soft contrast. Autumn, which brings together warm, dark and softened colors, for women with a warm complexion and eyes with a medium contrast. Winter, which brings together cold, dark and bright colors, for women with a cold complexion and eyes and a strong contrast.

As part of the launch of the " Color Therapy " theme, we organized an exclusive internal workshop allowing our employees to benefit from a personalized interview with the image consultant and colorimetry expert, Gaëlle Gomez. This personalized exchange allowed each person to discover the nuances that enhance their complexion and reveal their personality. The enthusiasm generated by this experience testified to the profound impact that color harmony can bring.

We would like to warmly thank Gaëlle Gomez for her valuable collaboration. Her professionalism and passion for colorimetry have also greatly enriched this article.
