For several seasons, our creative teams have been committed to ensuring that our fabric scraps do not remain unused. Tote bags, blouses, knitwear or vests or even lifestyle accessories, pieces that are available in ultra-limited quantities, exclusively on our e-shop.
What is upcycling?
Upcycling in the clothing market is the art of transforming used clothing or fabrics into new fashion pieces, often of better quality or with greater added value. Unlike recycling, which breaks down materials to create new ones, upcycling directly reuses existing materials by modifying, customizing or assembling them in other ways. This reduces textile waste and gives a second life to clothing in a creative and sustainable way.
LIMITED EDITION COLLECTIONS
"Nothing is created, everything is transformed"
Each season, our creative teams strive to produce in the fairest way possible, to avoid wasting resources. But when, despite all our efforts, certain fabrics or mesh panels remain unused, we redouble our imagination to give them a second life.
Each season, we offer you ultra-limited edition pieces and collections to sell off these dormant stocks. Plaids, tote bags, dresses, blouses or vests in upcycled cotton, our teams are full of imagination to find alternatives to dormant fabric scraps, and thus fight against overproduction and textile waste.
THE SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIP
Devernois x Weaving Solidarity: a partnership for more sustainable fashion
Since the beginning of 2024, we have been partners of the professional reintegration association Tissons la Solidarité. The aim of the Association: to raise awareness among consumers about more responsible fashion and the circular economy, but above all to encourage the return to employment of around 2,000 employees per year.
Through this initiative, we invite our customers to bring their old Devernois pieces back to the store, in order to give them a second life thanks to upcycling workshops. In total, since the beginning of this operation, more than 2000 have been collected for the association.
