Among the rare trades that make up the know-how of Devernois, there is mending. A trade in danger of disappearing that very few of us Houses keep alive in France.
Our chain stitchers have exceptional know-how that they strive to pass on to younger generations, so that this expertise continues.
Darning is a precious craft that requires precision, rigor and attention to detail, and which is tending to disappear. And if there are only a few people left who master the art of darning in France, we are proud to perpetuate this know-how within our House. This operation, which consists of going up each stitch of the knit one by one, allows for seamless finishes on a piece. This is a step that occurs at the very end of the production phase, when the piece is completely finished.
This is one of the professions that makes Maison Devernois rich, and which
guarantees exceptional quality for our parts.
This technique allows you to assemble two pieces of knitwear together, for example, the collar and body of a sweater. You then have to position the panel stitch by stitch on a re-knitting machine, a circular electric machine, and recreate a row of stitches to assemble them together.
This operation requires extreme care and delicacy and guarantees a solid and perfect finish.
